Asunción Becomes the Telecommunications Hub of the Americas

Next week, Asunción will host over 150 delegates from 33 countries for a major global telecommunications event. The city will be the stage for discussions on digital transformation, 5G expansion, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity, under the framework of the World Telecommunication Development Conference for the Region of the Americas.

With nearly 95% mobile internet coverage and a booming digital economy, the country will showcase its leadership in electronic transactions and connectivity. Experts from the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and the Inter-American Telecommunication Commission (CITEL) will explore future challenges, from fiber-optic expansion to AI regulations.
