The President of Paraguay, Santiago Peña, along with Health Minister María Teresa Barán and local authorities, signed an agreement to finalize the construction of the Gran Hospital de Coronel Oviedo. The signing took place at Mburuvichá Roga, reaffirming the government’s commitment to strengthening public healthcare.

President Peña emphasized that the hospital will decentralize healthcare services and enhance the region’s medical response capacity. He reiterated the government's dedication to improving the national health system, ensuring quality medical care closer to citizens’ homes.

In preparation for the hospital’s upcoming inauguration, the government is adapting the infrastructure of the Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) in Coronel Oviedo’s Pindoty area to manage hospital waste. The facility itself is equipped with state-of-the-art wastewater treatment technology, ensuring environmental sustainability.

This project represents a major step forward in expanding healthcare access across Paraguay, fulfilling the government's promise to improve medical services nationwide. (Source: LaNacion)
