Government Expands Support for Public School Students with Nutrition and Supplies Programs

The 2025 school year will be marked by two major government initiatives aimed at enhancing education for public school students. The Zero Hunger in Schools program, launched in 2024, will expand nationwide to provide proper nutrition to all 1.5 million students in public institutions. Initially implemented in 90 localities, the program has already benefited 450,000 children. The initiative also boosts local economies by sourcing food from nearby producers and suppliers.
Additionally, the Ministry of Education and Science (MEC) will distribute enhanced school supply kits to 1.4 million students, ensuring classrooms are fully equipped. Each kit includes expanded learning materials, Braille writing tools, and classroom supplies like markers and sharpeners. The government has invested over 135 billion guaraníes to provide 24.7 million school items across 28 kit variations.
These efforts aim to strengthen education as a driver of national development, ensuring students have both the resources and nutrition needed for academic success. (Source: Lanacion)
