A large-scale humanitarian effort is underway to support indigenous communities in Alto Paraguay, as 36,000 kilos of food supplies make their way to remote areas affected by extreme weather conditions. The National Emergency Secretariat (SEN) has dispatched several trucks loaded with non-perishable food, ensuring relief for 1,500 families in isolated villages such as Fuerte Olimpo, Bahía Negra, and Carmelo Peralta.

Due to heavy rains and impassable roads, many communities remain cut off from essential services and food supplies. The aid will be transported by boat from Carmelo Peralta to reach those in need. This mission marks the first phase of a broader relief plan, addressing the challenges of food security in the region.

With ongoing logistical efforts and coordinated support, this initiative brings vital assistance to some of the most vulnerable populations in the Paraguayan Chaco, reinforcing the commitment to ensuring their well-being during this critical period. Source: UH
