The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) has launched its 2025-2029 Country Strategy for Paraguay, focusing on three key areas: Green Paraguay, Productive Paraguay, and Human Paraguay. This initiative aims to drive sustainable economic growth, improve social services, and foster private sector development.

Key Benefits for Paraguay:

Green Economy: Expansion of sanitation services, better water resource management, and a shift towards cleaner energy sources.
Productivity & Trade: Enhancing the business environment, boosting private investment, and improving transport and trade infrastructure for regional integration.
Social Development: Increasing access to healthcare, reducing the housing deficit, and ensuring the financial sustainability of the pension system.
Institutional Strengthening: Improving public sector efficiency through digital tools and fostering fiscal transparency.
Inclusion & Equal Opportunities: Supporting women, indigenous communities, and people with disabilities by promoting access to basic services and the labor market.

The IDB's previous financial support (2019-2023) contributed to telehealth expansion for 3 million people, opening new export markets (USA, Canada, Saudi Arabia), and benefiting 90,000 MSMEs. Under the new strategy, IDB Invest and IDB Lab will further strengthen public-private partnerships to promote sustainable and inclusive growth. (Source: 5dias)
