Paraguay is set to launch a series of major road expansion projects by late February, improving key transportation routes in the country. Funded through an agreement between the Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) and the Itaipu Technology Park (PTI), the projects include the duplication of roads near Silvio Pettirossi Airport, Mariano Roque Alonso, and the well-known Tape Tuja route in Luque.

According to project coordinator Félix Zelaya, geotechnical studies have already begun, and construction is expected to start between March and early April. The plan involves expanding key highways, constructing a new viaduct over Madame Lynch Avenue, and improving drainage infrastructure. The full project is scheduled for completion within 18 to 21 months.

With a total investment of 480 billion guaraníes (approximately $65 million), the initiative will create around 1,000 direct jobs. These upgrades aim to ease traffic congestion, enhance connectivity, and support Paraguay’s growing infrastructure needs. (Source: UH)
