Mexico Evaluates Paraguayan Meat Production for Future Exports

A delegation from the Mexican company SuKarne visited Paraguay to assess the potential of the local meat production industry as part of the approval process for exporting beef to the Mexican market. The delegation, led by Daniel Vizcarra, met with the president of Senacsa, José Carlos Martin, and the Vice Minister of Livestock, Marcelo González, to discuss sanitary and trade-related matters.
Mexico, which imports approximately 1 million tons of beef per year, granted "approval" to Paraguay in December from a sanitary standpoint, although some formalities still need to be completed. The process is expected to move forward in the second half of 2025, when the first shipments could take place.
With this approval, Paraguay would finalize its access to the NAFTA bloc (Mexico, the U.S., and Canada), strengthening its presence in premium markets. Additionally, the country continues exploring opportunities in the Philippines, Singapore, and Vietnam to expand its meat trade. (Source:5dias)
