Paraguay has successfully shipped its first batch of kosher meat to the United States, marking a milestone in its meat export industry. The shipment, consisting of 24 tons and marketed by Frigomerc SA, strengthens the country's presence in the kosher-certified market, primarily catering to the Jewish community.

According to the National Service of Quality and Animal Health (Senacsa), this achievement reflects international confidence in Paraguay’s meat quality and safety standards. Senacsa President José Carlos Martin emphasized that this opens new opportunities for Paraguayan meat exports, complementing existing shipments to Israel.

Kosher meat follows strict Jewish dietary laws, requiring specific slaughtering methods. While Paraguayan meatpacking plants do not need major investments to meet these standards, they must comply with precise certification requirements. The growing demand for kosher products in the U.S. highlights Paraguay’s expanding role in the global meat trade. (Source: UH)
