Paraguay enters 2025 with promising economic prospects, building on the strong performance of the previous year. The Central Bank of Paraguay (BCP) forecasts a 3.8% growth rate, following a 4% expansion in 2024. Minister of Economy and Finance, Carlos Fernández Valdovinos, highlighted controlled inflation, fiscal stability, and rising employment as key indicators of economic strength.

Growth is expected across multiple sectors: 1.8% in agriculture, 5% in industry (with significant construction expansion), and 3.4% in services. Paraguay remains a regional leader in economic growth, second only to Argentina. The maquila industry has played a crucial role, closing 2024 with record exports of $1.1 billion and creating nearly 5,000 new jobs.

With positive economic momentum, the government emphasizes the importance of legal employment and formal business practices to ensure lasting benefits for all Paraguayans. (Source: Lanacion)
