Despite global market fluctuations, Paraguay’s leather industry is thriving, with exports reaching USD 91.9 million in 2024—a 48% increase in revenue and 51% in volume compared to the previous year. According to Senacsa, Paraguayan tanneries exported 79,906 tons of leather to over 50 international destinations, including major markets in Asia and Europe.

The sector, which supports over 3,000 jobs, has adapted to evolving global standards through Paraguay’s Socio-Environmental Traceability System, ensuring sustainable and transparent production. With a daily processing capacity of 3,000 to 4,000 hides, Paraguay remains a key supplier to industries like automotive upholstery and luxury goods.

Paraguayan leather stands out for its quality, durability, and eco-conscious production, positioning the country as a competitive force in the international market.
