Paraguayan Organic Sugar Makes Historic Debut in Taiwan with National Certification

Paraguay’s organic sugar has reached a new milestone with its first-ever export to Taiwan under a nationally certified organic label, opening fresh doors in the Asian market. Spearheaded by the company Hibernia, the shipment included 75 tons of light and dark organic sugar, destined for the Taiwanese importer Simple Life.
This historic shipment marks the first time Paraguayan sugar arrives in Taiwan carrying official national organic certification, made possible through a bilateral agreement and support from organizations such as Senave, CERES, and Rediex. More than a trade success, this step showcases Paraguay’s growing strength as a trusted supplier of healthy, high-value agricultural products.
Based in Santa María de Fe, Misiones, Hibernia works with both its own sugarcane fields and networks of small producers in Misiones and Guairá, promoting sustainable and regenerative farming. The company exports to the U.S., Europe, China, and Korea, and is now expanding deeper into Asia.
With 25 international certifications and projects that benefit its local community—like a free clinic and social pharmacy—Hibernia stands out as a model of responsible business. Paraguay’s organic sugar is gaining ground, and this latest achievement proves it’s ready to shine on the global stage. Source: InfoNegocios
