QR Payments Drive Digital Transformation in the Financial Sector
The rapid adoption of QR payments is revolutionizing digital transactions, with 55% of electronic payments now made using this method. According to Bancard’s CEO, Aníbal Corina, more than two million people regularly use QR codes for purchases, and in December alone, over 13 million QR transactions were processed.
The rise of global wallets like Google Pay and Apple Pay has further accelerated digital payment adoption, with nearly two million transactions recorded in just a few months. Additionally, the integration of Brazil’s Pix system into local businesses allows seamless cross-border payments, benefiting both tourists and Paraguayan consumers.
With continued investment in security and innovation, digital payments are expected to grow even further in 2025, expanding financial inclusion and making transactions faster and more convenient for businesses and consumers alike. Source: UH
