Strategic Gas Corridor: New Route to Boost Energy Integration in South America

A new pipeline project aims to optimize natural gas transportation from Argentina’s Vaca Muerta to Brazil, with a proposed route through the Chaco region. A technical team recently presented this plan, highlighting the advantages of utilizing the Bioceanic Road Corridor’s infrastructure for a more cost-effective and efficient energy transfer.
Spanning 1,050 km—530 of which would cross the Paraguayan Chaco—the project leverages flat terrain, existing infrastructure, and an international highway to facilitate implementation. Experts emphasize its potential to attract major investments, create jobs, and position the region as a key energy hub in South America.
With strong support from a multidisciplinary team of energy and trade experts, the initiative represents a step forward in regional energy integration, opening doors for economic growth and long-term energy security. Source: LaTribuna
