Tacuaras Gears Up for 9th Corvina Fishing Tournament and First-Ever Mburifest
Anglers from across Paraguay and neighboring countries will gather in Colonia Mburica, Tacuaras, for the 9th International Corvina and Mixed Fishing Tournament, set to take place on Sunday, March 16. The event will also feature the first-ever Mburifest, a festival celebrating the local fishing culture.
The official launch was held at Posadas del Tebicuary, with the presence of Ñeembucú Governor Víctor Hugo Fornerón and other regional authorities. Each year, the tournament attracts thousands due to the abundance of corvina at the confluence of the Tebicuary and Paraguay rivers.
The event expects 150 boats and an audience of 5,000 people, with security provided by the National Police, Naval Prefecture, and emergency services. Organized by the Club Deportivo Pilarense, the competition is a key driver for local tourism and the economy.
